BRIGHTON SONGWRITER SUPPORTS

SUSSEX HOMELESS SUPPORT

Robb Johnson is a Brighton based singer and writer of many campaigning songs, which deal with issues he witnesses and causes he supports, in the local community and elsewhere.

A few years ago, Robb wrote a song for a local school, to support their campaign to oppose being cut in half by the council. The school campaign didn’t really need the money that the song raised (just the awareness) so they decided to give any money they raised through the downloading and steaming of this song, to homeless charities.

Robb had discovered a site called Bandcamp. As opposed to every other streaming/download site, Bandcamp actually gives you the money from the ‘customers’.

Currently, Moulsecoomb school is being threatened with closure and Robb has written and recorded a song with them. As they don’t need the money that the song raises, they have decided to give the money to Sussex Homeless Support again.

Ever creative and with a view on current events, Robb has just written a song called ‘Barry Bucket’ – his response to the new unelected old Etonian who seems to have become our PM. He’s added this to the songs raising money for the homeless, and specifically SHS, on Bandcamp.
