Thank you to all that took part! You were all amazing sleeping on balconies, in gardens, with you cats or children. We raised just over £4,000 which is incredible. Fingers crossed next year we can have our full outdoor event again….
SHS SLEEP OUT 20 for Sussex Homeless Support

This year’s sleep out at Hove Lagoon has been cancelled due to COVID restrictions but we are hoping you will join us in a “Sleep out at home”. For one night only on Saturday 12 December, we would love you all to virtually join together to help save lives of people living on the streets of Sussex.
Last year’s World’s Big Sleep out raised a massive £19,000 for Sussex Homeless Support, the funds you raised have ensured we can continue to support homeless people throughout 2020 and we thank you.
This winter in the UK we are facing the biggest challenge ever, our homeless/rough Sleepers support numbers are rising there is an estimated 80,000 facing homeless between now and Easter, nearly 250,000 in rent arrears, the country is being held together by so few charities who are working frontline.
Sussex Homeless Support (SHS) have not been able to hold any fundraising events this year, we have been unsuccessful applying for COVID local and national governments grants, despite increasing our service from one street kitchen a week to a massive eight a week. Our unpaid volunteers were the only support on the street and we have been most busy. Nobody that works/volunteers at SHS receives a wage, it is all voluntary. All donations go a long way and we will not be able to get through this Winter without your support.
For one night only we are asking that you sleep in your garden, shed, garage, camper van or camp out in your own lounge, completely your choice, make it fun. Involve your children & pets and ask friends and neighbours to host their own ‘sleep in’ and spread the word! Please upload your sleep in photos to our social media pages!
