Sussex Homeless Support are really lucky to have support from so many different people, large companies, small companies, those local to Brighton and those further away. We are so grateful for their support and in return, we like to do a shout out for those who help us. Their funding is what keeps SHS ticking – we are totally dependant on donations.
Rebecca Cook is one of those who goes one step beyond. She doesn’t live in Brighton, but her business is Sussex based. She cooks wonderful things, organises weddings in her barn and even serves beer from her husband’s company, Missing Link Brewing, in their new venture ‘The Tap Room’.
Rebecca heard about SHS and arrived at the Street Kitchen one day, with loads of delicious cakes for our customers. Since then, she has hosted the highly successful Metal Detecting fundraiser, that was organised by Graeme Stokes and now she has been raising more money for SHS by asking customers at The Tap Room to make a donation for her delicious homemade pies. On Saturday night, she raised £66 and spread the word about the work that SHS do for the homeless.
We couldn’t survive without the support of people like Rebecca. Inspiration, kindness and generosity is what makes the world go around.
Thanks Rebecca from all of us at SHS.
